Use a shared model for the target allocation and account settings for an individual client’s implementation needs. This guide follows synthetic client Maya Patel, her Revocable Trust, and the Growth model in Evergreen Advisory.

1. Read the current account

Open Clients, find the client or household, and select the account. Open Setup to see its Model, Sleeves, and Settings. Check the account name above the tabs before editing. If the account needs a model, select Assign model, or Change beside an existing model. Choose the intended model and confirm the assignment. Assignment saves at confirmation; apply or discard any queued setup changes before changing the model. Build a model portfolio explains the shared structure.

Growth supplies Maya's sleeve weights. The U.S. Large Cap sleeve has account-specific direct indexing; the other visible sleeves inherit from the model.

2. Propose one account change

Select a sleeve to inspect its Tilts and direct indexing, or select a settings group: Tax, Transactions, Optimization, or Constraints. Check the source beside the group and the individual fields. Values can come from the account, model, organization, or Tilt’s defaults.
Account Settings groups with Tax and Constraints marked Set for account, Transactions marked From organization, and Optimization marked Default.

The settings list separates Maya's account-specific tax and constraints from organization transaction settings and default optimization settings.

In chat, ask for a concrete setting, such as “Propose a 5% USD cash buffer for Maya Patel’s Revocable Trust. Show the current value, the value that would take effect, and its source. Do not save yet.” Review the full proposal. The account can have restrictions, cash settings, tax preferences, direct-indexing choices, and Tilt adjustments. A change may replace a complete collection, so check which existing choices the proposal preserves. Confirm the specific account change only after the proposed and effective values match your intent.

3. Verify the result

For edits made in the account interface, open Queued changes at the bottom of the page. Review each old and new value. Remove a change you do not want, choose Discard all to abandon the draft, or select Apply to save it. Apply or discard the queue before requesting an optimization. Reopen the relevant sleeve or settings group to check its saved value and source. In chat, ask: “Read Maya Patel’s saved Revocable Trust settings and explain which value now takes effect.” If Tilt reports a conflict or uncertain save, inspect the account again before proposing the remaining change. Account tailoring changes optimization inputs. It does not itself run an optimization or place trades. Understand settings and rules explains inherited values and Dynamic Rules; Review a rebalance covers the later proposal.
