Build a model portfolio when several accounts should share a target allocation. A sleeve represents one part of that allocation, such as U.S. large-cap equity or aggregate bonds. The screenshots show the existing Growth model in the synthetic Evergreen Advisory practice.

1. Open or create a model

Open Models in the sidebar. Select an existing model to review it, or choose Create model to name a new one. A newly created model needs sleeves and target weights before an assigned account can use it for optimization. You can also ask Tilt Agent to propose a model. Describe the exposures and target weights you want, then ask it to show the complete allocation before saving. Review sleeve membership and any nested sleeve weights before confirming the proposal.

2. Set the allocation

On Allocation, select Add sleeve to choose an available sleeve. A sleeve joins at 0%; enter its target percentage and adjust the other targets so the total reaches 100%. Tilt keeps allocation edits in the change queue and requires a complete allocation before you can apply them.

Growth's Allocation view shows sleeve implementations, editable target percentages, and the total. The screenshot shows the first rows of the allocation.

Select Edit beside a sleeve to inspect its implementation settings. Review the benchmark, Tilts, and direct indexing choices before queueing a change. The sleeve’s target weight sets its share of the model; its implementation settings determine how an account can reach that exposure.

3. Check the impact and save

Open Accounts to see which client accounts follow the model. Changes to a shared model can affect those accounts. Account-specific settings can override inherited settings, so inspect a named account when you need to know its effective result.

Accounts lists the accounts that follow Growth. This excerpt shows Alex Wright's IRA and the Okafor Family 529.

On Settings, review Tax, Transactions, Optimization, and Constraints. Model values apply to accounts that inherit them. Account overrides remain specific to their accounts. Open Queued changes at the bottom of the model page. Check each old and new value and the number of accounts affected. Remove unwanted changes, choose Discard all to abandon the draft, or select Apply to save it. Reopen the model to check the saved allocation and settings.

4. Assign the model to an account

Open the client from Clients, select the account, and open Setup. Choose Assign model, or Change beside the existing model. Review the selected account and intended model before confirming the assignment; Tilt saves the assignment at confirmation. Check Model and Sleeves in the account’s saved setup. The assigned model supplies the allocation, while account settings can tailor direct indexing, Tilts, tax settings, and restrictions. Tailor the account for those preferences, then review a rebalance when the saved inputs are ready.
