Template contents
Templates exclude account identity, registration, holdings, balances, and realized history. Shared annual capital-gains budgets belong to the client or household and remain separate from account optimizer tax settings.
Defining or applying a template does not grant trading authority, activate management, place trades, or start scheduled work.
Field instructions
Omission and reset are distinct instructions. Zero, false, and empty selections remain deliberate values where supported.
Copying a list replaces the account-level list; the review shows additions and removals. Inherited model and firm restrictions, resolution rules, and required exemption reasons still apply.
Models and saved values
When creating a template from an account, Tilt Agent copies requested effective scalar values and preserves shared model references. The source account has no ongoing connection to the template.
For monitoring, Tilt Agent copies only an explicit account policy, preserving inherited layers. A source with no explicit policy requires a chosen policy or reset instruction. Conditional rules can fall through to different inherited policies at the destination, so the effective monitoring outcome can differ.
Selection and validation
Application uses saved template definitions, excluding queued edits. Tilt Agent supports several accounts with a separate setting selection for each. Tilt saves all selected account changes together or saves none; this guarantee covers Tilt configuration, not custodian operations.
The Firm queue can partially succeed: successful saves leave the queue and failed changes remain. Saving definitions leaves accounts unchanged. See Firm queue controls.

Permissions and records
The app and Tilt Agent enforce the same permissions.
Records survive later template edits and archival.
