An account template is a saved set of settings you can copy into accounts during initial setup or later. For example, a cash-only template can set a standard cash buffer while leaving model assignments untouched.

Copy settings into accounts

Saving a template defines the settings to copy. Applying it is a separate action: you review the proposed changes for an account and choose which to save. Application writes ordinary account settings, which you can edit afterward. It does not place trades. A template includes only the settings you choose. Omitted settings stay untouched. For settings that support resets, a template can remove an account override and restore that setting’s existing model or firm inheritance. Intended account types help you choose a template. They do not change account registration or create automatic assignments for future accounts.

Keep templates separate from shared models

After application, the account has no ongoing connection to the template. Editing the template changes future applications; existing account settings stay as they are. Applying it again compares the revised instructions with the account’s current settings. A model assignment copied from a template still references the shared model. Later model edits can affect assigned accounts under the usual shared-model behavior. Editing the template does not edit the model’s allocation. See Define and apply an account template for the workflow, or the reference for supported settings, permissions, and save behavior.
