# Get Tilt for Mac

> Install Tilt for Mac, sign in, and learn what the Mac app adds to Tilt on the web.

Tilt for Mac is the Tilt app for Macs with Apple silicon. It shows the same Tilt you use on the web, with your chats, Library, and settings, and adds:

| Feature | What it does |
| - | - |
| [Page tabs](https://docs.tilt.now/tilt-agent/page-tabs.md) | Every page you open keeps a tab beside the chat. Tilt Agent sees the tab on screen and knows which others are open. |
| [Tilt Capture](https://docs.tilt.now/tilt-agent/tilt-capture.md) | A keyboard shortcut puts a screenshot of the window in front of you into a chat, so you can ask Tilt about anything on your screen. |
| Notifications | Alerts can notify your Mac while Tilt is running. |
| [Keyboard shortcuts](https://docs.tilt.now/tilt-agent/mac-keyboard-shortcuts.md) | Menu shortcuts move between chats, pages, and tabs. |

## Install and sign in

1. Download the installer from [app.tilt.io/download/mac](https://app.tilt.io/download/mac).
2. Open the downloaded file and drag **Tilt** into your Applications folder, then open it.
3. Select **Continue in browser**. Your browser opens **Sign in to Tilt for Mac**.
4. Sign in with your Tilt account, or confirm the account you are already signed in to, and select **Open Tilt**. The Mac app opens signed in.

Tilt for Mac keeps its own session. Signing out on the web leaves the Mac app signed in, and the reverse.

## Turn on notifications

Open **Settings** (⌘,), select **Alerts**, and under **Desktop notifications** select **Enable** beside **This device**. Tilt shows a test notification. If macOS asks, allow notifications from Tilt; you can change this later in System Settings > Notifications.

Selecting a notification opens what it is about in Tilt. Notifications arrive while Tilt is running: closing the window keeps Tilt running, and quitting Tilt (⌘Q) stops them.

## Updates

Tilt downloads updates in the background. When one is ready, Tilt offers **Restart to update**; select **Later** to install it the next time you quit. To check yourself, choose **Tilt** > **Check for Updates…**.

## Links

Links to other websites open in your default browser.

To copy the address of the page you are viewing, choose **File** > **Copy Page Link** (⌘⇧C) or right-click the page and select **Copy Page Link**. The link reopens the page for you on the web or in Tilt for Mac. It gives no one else access; to share a conversation, use **Share chat**.
