# Trade release conditions

> Definitions, threshold boundaries, and evidence limitations for organization trade release rules.

Organization owners can combine these conditions in [trade release rules](/advisor/trade-release-rules). A matching rule flags the whole account proposal. Reviewers inspect the results in [Trading > To review](/advisor/review-rebalance#review-the-morning-trading-queue).

| Condition | Measurement |
| - | - |
| All trades | Any nonempty optimizer security-trade proposal. |
| Absolute dollars | Absolute proposed security-trade value in USD. Tilt combines rows for the same security and direction, without adding unrelated buys and sells into proposal turnover. |
| Percentage of account value | Security-trade USD value divided by authoritative account net value, including cash. Missing or unusable value is unknown; Tilt does not substitute invested-only assets. Current coverage requires fresh positive broker-reported net value for a USD account. |
| Percentage of security ADV | Security-trade dollar value divided by six-month average daily dollar volume (ADV), excluding the current partial day. This measures one security trade, not book-wide participation or live execution. |
| Wash sales | Potential conflicts from known account and household tax lots and the proposal itself. Tilt compares identical securities, including known acquisitions or loss dates within the preceding 30 days and buys against proposed loss sales. Outside accounts, future activity, and incomplete acquisition or realized-loss histories limit coverage. This is not definitive tax clearance. |
| Recent deposits | Identifiable inbound cash contributions and cash transfers within the selected lookback, using posted/effective activity dates rather than import time. Excludes sale proceeds, dividends, currency conversions, and in-kind transfers. |
| Account status changes | Observed transitions between known normalized account statuses within the selected lookback. Current status alone does not establish a change. |
| Failed trades/proposals | Optimizer failures and actual order failures or rejections within the selected lookback. Excludes ordinary market-closed waits, policy blocks, and cancellations. |
| Portfolio changes | Changes to the assigned model, allocations, or effective construction settings within the selected lookback. Excludes price movement and routine fills. |

## Thresholds and lookbacks

For dollar and percentage conditions, choose **greater than** or **greater than or equal to** and a nonnegative threshold. At a \$100,000 threshold, a \$100,000 trade matches only the inclusive comparison. A 5% threshold compares the trade with 5% of account value or security ADV, as applicable.

Recent deposits, account status changes, failed trades/proposals, and portfolio changes require a lookback in positive whole days. Tilt evaluates the window from the evaluation time minus that number of days through the evaluation time, including both boundaries.

## Evidence coverage

Tilt uses persisted proposal, brokerage, tax-lot, and configuration evidence. Missing trade USD valuations, account values, or positive volume history can prevent a numeric evaluation.

| Rule result | Effect on sending |
| - | - |
| Matched | The sender must be eligible under this rule. |
| Could not evaluate | The sender must be eligible under this unresolved rule and inspect its missing evidence. |
| Not matched | This rule adds no sender restriction. A known-false condition settles an AND rule as not matched even if another condition lacks evidence. |

The absence of a recorded deposit, failure, or wash-sale conflict does not establish complete history. These conditions can remain **Could not evaluate** when Tilt finds no event. Status and portfolio-change checks also need a history baseline covering the start of the lookback to establish that no change occurred. Inspect each result's evidence and missing-coverage reason before sending.

Annual capital gains is not an available condition. Projected gains in a proposal do not establish calendar-year realized gains.
